First Amendment to the United States Constitution
This past election season, we have been blessed with mirrors that have revealed the true nature of some people that we have known all of our lives. We have seen their Facebook posts, we have seen their Twitter rants, and most of all have been subjected to their political ideologies. After Election Day, I think we may find that we are distancing ourselves from some of these people. However there is never enough distance to get you far away from some people.
I am talking about those self-centered, big-headed individuals that find a way to make everything about them. Randomly strolling through a blog with over two hundred posts, and finding a single paragraph that you think is aimed at you, well is just, vain. Deciding to download that blog posts and take it to Human Resources is well, just silly. Then to tell six people, who don’t like you, that you are going to do it, makes you just pathetic. Here’s the rub my friends, usually trying to get someone fired, often backfires, and it is you that ends up under the microscope.
As much as we dislike what we are seeing in the media, what we are hearing from our friends, and what we are seeing posted in blogs, the First Amendment gives each American the right to do so. Unless I specifically name you, the organization in which I am employed, or name names, within reason, I can say what I damned well pleased. You don’t have to agree. You don’t have to like me. However, if you are reading this, and I am sure that you are, you may want to reconsider your actions. In the end, it is you that looks like the stalker and again, even if this wasn’t about you, you are so vain, you probably think that it is.
In the meantime, be good to each other, try to get along with your fellow-man and respect an individual’s right to be themselves. Most importantly, remember to get out and vote.
