What I am reading

Posted on

I have been rather busy this month and my bookshelf is full.

My book club is reading: Alone: Girl in the Box for September. Hey, it’s free on Nook & Kindle.

Book Description:

Sienna Nealon was a 17 year-old girl who had been held prisoner in her own house by her mother for twelve years. Then one day her mother vanished, and Sienna woke up to find two strange men in her home. On the run, unsure of who to turn to and discovering she possesses mysterious powers, Sienna finds herself pursued by a shadowy agency known as the Directorate and hunted by a vicious, bloodthirsty psychopath named Wolfe, each of which is determined to capture her for their own purposes…

I am not big on YA, but hey…I will do it anyway. Book club is about expanding my reading repertoire.  That’s what I keep telling myself any.

It is well reviewed so I will give it a go.

What I am looking forward to reading in the next few days is: Murder at Twin Oaks by Charmain Zimmerman Brackett. It is a new series by a local author and this is the first in the trilogy.  This one only $1.99 on Kindle.

Journalist Victoria James usually only writes about crime for the Bennettsville, Ga. Herald. When two of the town’s most influential people are killed and clues start showing up on Victoria’s doorstep, she’s forced into the investigation and must come face-to-face with part of her past she’d rather forget.
There are no graphic depictions of sex or violence in this novella.

(awww Hell, I guess I will read it anyway). I am not sure if this is a cozy mystery.

We have book club this past Saturday with the author.  (How cool is that?)  And I bought a series of her books.

When Rain Falls by Tyora Moody. This one is not free or cheap.  It is $8.49 on Kindle but you can get the paper backs pretty cheap.

WHEN-RAIN-FALLS-FINAL-197x300Description:

It is going to be a fun month.  Happy Reading.
